What is L-Carnitine?

L-Carnitine is used to boost both one's training and physique. It an give bigger pumps, and allow you to workout longer when used correctly. While oftentimes categorized as an amino acid, L-Carnitine is not an amino. It's a vitamin like, amino like, compound which is related to B-Vitamins. L-Carnitine is made in the liver and kidneys from amino acids Lysine and Methionine, however it's stored elsewhere in the body, primarily within the muscles, heart, and brain. You can get Carnitine naturally from foods like avocado, soybeans, and meats; red meats containing the most. Carnitine also comes in two forms; D-Carnitine, and L-Carnitine. L-Carnitine is the type found in nature.

What Does L-Carnitine Do?

L-Carnitine transports fat, specifically long chain fatty acids, into the mitochondria of cells. Once there, fatty acids may be oxidized to be used as fuel, to create adenosine triphosphate, or ATP. L-Carnitine does this while  you work as well as while  you rest, however research shows it works best during intense exercise. Without Carnitine, most fats from  your diet can't get into the mitochondria and be burned as fuel. For people with deficiencies of L-Carnitine it can lead to muscle weakness, stunted growth, and even liver issues. For these reasons L-Carnitine is a conditionally essential nutrient. L-Carnitine has been shown in studies to also help keep blood glucose levels low even after eating a lot of carbs. This is one reason many experts recommend taking L-Carnitine with a post workout meal.

What Are Uses for L-Carnitine?

  • Turning Fat into Fuel
  • Endurance
  • Decreased Muscle Soreness
  • Better Pumps

Carniplex (250mg) our trademarked form of Carnitine Silicate which is an inositol-stabilized form that offers improved bioavailability, yielding greater carnitine uptake for enhanced fat burning and wound healing.

Propionyl L-Carnitine (250mg)PLCAR, for short, this enhanced form of carnitine is known as the “athlete’s carnitine” for its ability to boost nitric oxide production and support increased exercise performance.

Carnipure (250mg) premium-grade L-Carnitine L-Tartrate documented to decrease the production of free radicals, muscle damage and muscle soreness after exercise. Carnipure has also been found to increase blood flow, reduce markers of metabolic stress, and improve recovery time. Note that all of these benefits come in addition to its role in supporting greater fat burning!

EGCG (100mg) the most abundant catechin in green tea. It is heavily researched for its ability to promote lipolysis and increase the amount of fat used for energy both during and after exercise.
